Bryan G. Sowder

Bryan Gordon Sowder- born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 2, 1958, to the late Jess Gordon Sowder and Nadine I. (nee Holiday) Sowder. Bryan grew up in Springdale, graduate of Princeton High School, after which he had attended Joe Kupert School of Art in Dover, NJ. Bryan had fascination for storytelling, cinema and literature. Having been an immensely talented artist and bookstore owner of Maverick's Comics for over a decade, which has given him a brilliant outlet to express his creativity and inspire others who looked up to him. Always a cheerful demeanor with the ability to ignite smiles and laughter, Bryan made a charming impact in his local community with loyal friends who remained in his life all the way through the years. Always the favorite of animals too, especially dogs who seemed to naturally gravitate toward his affectionate character. 

Bryan bestowed in him a golden heart full of kindness and sensitivity. Loving father of three; Quentin, Alexandra, and Ivan Sowder, who greatly miss spending time watching classic or modern films with their father. Beloved younger brother of Yvonne (Walter) Foster and Priscilla (Richard) Stacey; his older sisters who lovingly took him out to eat at favorite restaurants, among other activities. Uncle, nephew, and cousin of many good people. Former spouse to Galina Gala, who deeply cared for his well-being and stayed by his side with their children together until the end when he passed away on January 7, 2024 at Mercy Fairfield Hospital after complications from routine outpatient procedure. Bryan had just recently turned 65 years of age. 

A celebration of life will be held at Blushstone Events Venue (Anderson Township), 8128 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45255 on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 2:30 pm. Food and drinks will be served. All are welcome to attend to share memories and stories about Bryan!
