Brendan McCabe, age 54, died unexpectedly on April 1, 2018.
Beloved husband of Jay Patterson. Loving son of the late Michael and Joanne McCabe. Devoted brother of Marilyn McClain, Brian McCabe, Michael McCabe and Maureen Campbell. He is also survived by his parents-in-law Rod and Nancy Patterson of Toledo, sister-in-law Tara Patterson of Toledo and aunts Kay Patterson and Susan Clements of Buffalo, N.Y., and many nieces and nephews.
Brendan was born in California and raised in Cincinnati.
Throughout a long career as an entrepreneur, he owned several Cincinnati businesses, the latest of which is Riverside Centre Antiques Mall.
Brendan loved style and design. His home was his primary canvas, always set to his latest artistic inspiration. Christmas was his home-decorating extravaganza. In the kitchen, he was a wizard who turned out masterpieces to the delight of his family and friends. He was a gardener and an accomplished florist who loved to work a wedding.
Brendan excelled at being a friend. He leaves behind a cadre of “sisters of the heart.” They are: Victoria Gremillion of Boulder, CO; Michelle Knabe of Cincinnati, OH; Victoria Stratton and Cathy Stratton of Cedarburg, WI; and Elizabeth Wittbrodt of Chicago, IL; and Mary Baggs of Cincinnati, OH.
He also leaves behind the canine love of his life, Zadie.
A celebration of Brendan’s life will be held from 3 – 8 p.m. on April 23, 2018, at Riverside Centre Antique Mall, 3742 Kellogg Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45226.
