Barbara Chenhall

CHENHALL. Barbara P. (Bobi) Chenhall, cherished matriarch of the widespread Wade. A native of New York, Bobi achieved a BFA (Fine Art) from Skidmore College of Saratoga Springs, New York and an MLS from the University of Michigan, where she was a member of the Beta Phi Mu Honorary Society. With deceased husband Robert G. (Bob) Chenhall, a noted anthropologist and museum administrator, Bobi resided in Albuquerque for over 30 years where she was an award-winning artist whose work was shown widely throughout the Southwest. Bobi often joined Bob in his work traveling throughout Europe, Africa and Latin America. She was a volunteer in Bobs New Mexico Museum of Natural History and the Indian Culture Center while in Albuquerque. When Bob passed in 2003, Bobi moved to Cincinnati to be closer to her Midwestern family, and settled into Maple Knoll Village in Springdale, where she continued to be active in MKV activities and producing and showing off her artwork. Bobi was an active member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Albuquerque and also here in Wyoming. She is survived by son Peter B. Wade and wife Linda (Symmes Township); daughter-in-law Sharon Wade (Detroit), wife of deceased son Steven L. Wade; grandson Corey Wade and wife Robyn and their two children (Ethan and Anna); granddaughter Wendy and husband Joe Murphy (Atlanta) and their daughters Kathryn and Ellie (deceased); granddaughter Deborah and her husband Kevin Heslip (San Obispo, California) and their daughter Peyton, and granddaughter Kelly B. Gholz and her husband Justin (Mason, Ohio) and their three sons (Niko, Brooks and Evan). The family wishes to send it gratitude to the staff and residents of Maple Knoll for making the final decade and a half of Bobi's life a delightful experience. A Celebration of Life memorial will be held in the Chapel Annex at Maple Knoll Village, 111000 Sprignfield Pike, Springdale, Ohio 45246 on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 2 PM-4 PM.
